CSL had its beginning in 1951 when television was in its infancy, computers were as large as apartments, and the Internet wasn't even a gleam in the government's eye.  Since then, the University of Illinois Coordinated Science Laboratory (CSL) has done more than simply witness the development of these communication marvels.

CSL has helped to make it happen.

To track CSL's progress through the years, select a decade from The CSL CyberMuseum and explore the rich history of this interdisciplinary laboratory.

You can also visit CSL Gold, which features highlights from the laboratory's year-long 50th anniversary celebration.
