Research Project Title
Digital Formation of Pulse-Width Modulated Signals for Audio

Project Overview
Pulse-width modulation (PWM) is a suitable control approach for efficient
dc to ac conversion (inverter) systems. In recent years, PWM has been applied
to audio amplification, since an inverter with the right control can deliver
high power levels to a loudspeaker with efficiencies on the order of 90%.
The purpose of the current project is to determine how to achieve very high
audio fidelity in a PWM amplifier, without the need for analog data conversion
steps.
