*** IMPORTANT ALLERTON LODGING NOTE:
Allerton guest rooms are being upgraded. During this upgrade, most twin beds have been replaced with Queen or King sized beds. Due to the high attendance of this conference, the twin beds have been put back into the rooms.
Only the "rooms" are assigned; not the beds. Bed choices are on a "first-come, first-served" basis. The cost of lodging however, remains the same for all beds regardless of size.
Meals.
Guests at Allerton House and commuters from Champaign-Urbana
must request, at the time of advance registration, tickets
for meals served at Allerton House (please see information
on the registration form). Tickets will not be available
for purchase from Allerton House during the Conference.
Seating for dinners on Wednesday and Thursday evenings
is limited to 120 persons.
*** Please note that Monticello is NOT within walking
distance from the Conference site, it is approximately
a 15 minute drive into Monticello. Meal arrangements
should be made allowing for the remote rural location
of this event.
Conference Proceedings.
A CD-ROM copy of the Proceedings is included with each
non-student registration. Student registration
does not include the Proceedings. Additional CD-ROM
copies are available to all attendees at $65 each.
Transportation.
Champaign-Urbana is located at the junction of I-57,
I-72, and I-74, about 130 miles south of Chicago and
110 miles west of Indianapolis. UI Willard Airport in
Savoy (an adjacent town) is served by American Eagle
(Chicago); Delta (Cincinnati); and Northwest Airlink
(Detroit). Greyhound and Amtrak provide bus and train
service from Chicago to Champaign.
Local Transportation.
Yellow Checker (1-800-427-7681) and Corky’s Cab
Company (217-352-3121) provide service to Allerton from
Willard airport, Illinois Terminal, or any Champaign-Urbana
lodging accommodations. The cost averages $45 per trip.
Hertz, Avis, Budget, and National rental cars are available
both at the airport and in Champaign.
